About the hotel
The Daffodil is a lakeside hotel on the edge of Grasmere village, run by Crerar Hotels, with Dove Cottage and the Wordsworth Museum a few minutes' walk away. It has a spa with a 10m thermal pool, sauna, steam room and tepidarium, and the dining room and terrace look across Grasmere lake.
Rooms are split between valley-view and lake-view, with junior suites and some rooms that have a separate living area with a sofa bed. Food covers breakfast, afternoon tea, Sunday lunch and a modern British dinner menu. It suits couples on a spa break and dog owners, though only a handful of rooms take dogs, so ring ahead.
