The charger
We check each charger against Zap-Map, the UK's main map of public and destination chargers, and the hotel's own website. We record the speed of each connector in kW, the plug types (Type 2, CCS, CHAdeMO), how many there are, the price, the network and whether non-guests can use it. If two sources disagree, we use the most recent one and say so.
The hotel
Prices, ratings, check-in times, dog policies and facilities come from the hotel's website and the big booking sites. A "from" price is the cheapest room we found for two adults on the date shown; your dates will differ. Guest ratings name the site they come from.
What we leave out
If we can't confirm a fact, we leave it blank rather than guess. We write our own descriptions and don't copy hotel marketing.
Dates
Every hotel page shows the date we last checked it. Chargers get added, removed and repriced, so if something has changed, tell us and we'll re-check.
Charging speeds, in plain terms
- 7kW: about 25 to 30 miles of range an hour. Most cars are full after a night.
- 11 to 22kW: faster, but only if your car can take it. Many cars charge at 11kW at most on AC.
- 50kW and up: rapid DC charging, usually 20% to 80% in under an hour.
