The Gissons Hotel is a 25-room roadside hotel in the village of Kennford, just south of Exeter where the M5 ends and the A38 and A380 split towards Plymouth and Torbay. Rooms are standard and deluxe singles, doubles and twins, plus a suite with a bath. Recent guest reviews say the bar and restaurant have been closed and mention renovation work, so plan to eat elsewhere. It suits drivers who want a cheap, simple bed close to the motorway.
Guest reviews from mid to late 2026 report the bar and restaurant closed, though the hotel's website advertises a new Italian restaurant, Grappa's; check before you rely on eating there. The front desk is staffed 10am–10pm and children aged 6 and under are not accepted.
